What if something goes wrong after I travel home?
This is the most important question when considering dental treatment abroad — and it deserves an answer before you even travel. We provide a 5-year written warranty on implants and 3 years on prosthetics. A border does not end our responsibility.
For what, how long, and under what conditions
Straumann Implant Warranty
We provide a full 5-year warranty on every Straumann implant screw placed.
Condition: one check-up per year at our clinic — this is free every year — and maintaining proper oral hygiene.
Crowns, bridges, prostheses
We provide a 3-year warranty on crowns, bridges, and implant-supported prosthetics.
Condition: the annual check-up and, if recommended by the doctor, wearing a night guard (bite splint).
Suppose you notice after six months in Vienna that something is wrong.
First, call us — you will find the number in your treatment documentation. We take calls in German and try to determine over the phone if it is urgent.
If it is urgent, you will be seen with priority. If not, we will look for an appointment that fits your schedule. The warranty repair costs you no money — only the travel is at your expense.
And if it is something that is easier to resolve locally in Vienna, we will tell you that too. We do not expect you to travel 70 kilometers for a problem that can be handled on the next street.

An implant can serve you for decades — but not on its own. What we ask is not much and serves your own interest.
One check-up per year
With us, it is free every year — not just in the first year. This way we find out in time if something starts going in the wrong direction, long before you would feel anything. You can make the 70-kilometer trip once a year without having to pay for the examination.
Proper oral hygiene
The implant itself does not decay, but the gums and bone around it can become inflamed. Daily cleaning prevents this. At the first check-up, we will show you what to pay attention to.
Night guard, if recommended
If you grind your teeth at night, it strains even the strongest ceramic. The guard absorbs this — and is therefore a condition of the warranty.
You will receive the detailed warranty conditions in writing along with the treatment plan, before the treatment begins.
